Listing Your Home? 3 Things To Ask Your Agent

You need to sell your home, and you’re already picked your agent. You’re right smack dab in the middle of cleaning, decluttering, painting, and prepping your home. However, you still need to solidify the final price and marketing plan. As your listing period approaches, there are three big questions you need to ask your agent.

1. What’s the highest price tag I could put on my home given its location and size?
Your home’s final price will be based on the property’s layout, square footage, lot size, and location. Better understanding your home’s appeal will help inform your final price. It will also help you feel more comfortable with incoming offers.

2. Based on my final price, when will I receive my first offer?
If you choose to price your home low, you’ll probably receive an offer within the first few weeks. If you choose to price your home high, you’ll probably receive an offer within the first few months. However, you should expect a price reduction along the way.

3. What’s your open house strategy?
Every market is totally different, so what works in a small town might not be effective in a larger city. Find out what works for your area, and make sure your agent is knowledgeable of the market and trustworthy. Typically, the best approach is not one-size-fits-all.
